What is the 5 Mukhi Rudraksha?
The 5 Mukhi Rudraksha is a sacred bead marked by five natural lines or faces, also known as the Panch Mukhi or Five-Faced Rudraksha. It symbolizes the divine energy of Lord Shiva in the form of Rudra Kalagni, the powerful aspect that destroys sins, negativity, and ignorance while purifying the soul.
This Rudraksha also represents the five elements of nature (Pancha Mahabhutas)—earth, water, fire, air, and ether—bringing balance and harmony to the wearer’s physical, mental, and spiritual existence.
The 5 Mukhi Rudraksha is ruled by Jupiter (Guru or Brihaspati), the planet of wisdom and expansion. It is the most widely worn Rudraksha and is suitable for people of all ages and life paths.
The 5 Mukhi Rudraksha is available in Large and Super Collector sizes.
About the Ruling Planet: Jupiter
Jupiter, known as Guru or Brihaspati in Vedic astrology, represents wisdom, knowledge, spirituality, prosperity, and growth. It governs the zodiac signs Sagittarius and Pisces, and the ninth and twelfth houses of the horoscope. Jupiter is associated with optimism, faith, generosity, and righteous living.
A strong Jupiter bestows:
- Wisdom and clarity of purpose
- Spiritual inclination and ethical conduct
- Luck, abundance, and expansion
- However, when imbalanced, Jupiter may cause:
- Confusion and lack of direction
- Excessiveness or overindulgence
- Arrogance or rigid beliefs
The 5 Mukhi Rudraksha helps harmonize Jupiter’s influence, reducing confusion, wastefulness, and indulgent tendencies while strengthening wisdom, discipline, creativity, communication, and spiritual awareness.

- Story of the Presiding Deity
In the form of Mrityunjay, Lord Rudra protects devotees from untimely death. As Kalagni Rudra, he burns away sins and karmic impurities, purifying the soul and enabling one to complete the full cycle of life with divine protection.
The sacred Rudram, a powerful Vedic hymn, glorifies Lord Rudra in multiple Anuvakas (verses), invoking him to remove negativity and bless devotees with health, prosperity, strength, and spiritual upliftment. Wearing the 5 Mukhi Rudraksha aligns the wearer with this divine frequency, guiding them along the path destined for them under Shiva’s protection.
Lord Rudra is praised with many powerful names, including
“Rudreshwara Himashailesh Jagadishwara Satguna Bhushita”, and is also known as Maha Rudra, Kala Rudra, Kalpanta Rudra, and Veera Rudra—the embodiment of courage, auspiciousness, and radiant existence. This is why the 5 Mukhi Rudraksha is traditionally kept in every room of the house—to ward off negativity, purify the environment, and energize the space with Shiva’s protective and uplifting presence.
